FONDA — Five women are facing felony welfare fraud charges, the Montgomery County Department of Social Services Welfare Fraud Investigative Unit announced Monday. One local woman was among the five arrested.
Kacia A. Kuntzsch, 22, of 285 Klock Road, St. Johnsville, was charged with fourth-degree welfare fraud. Kuntzsch is charged with failing to report she was working and received $2,601.05 in Medicaid benefits she was not entitled to.

ROOT — State Police in Fultonville on Friday arrested a Pennsylvania man after he was involved in a minor motor vehicle crash on Route 162.

TOWN OF MOHAWK — A State Police DWI checkpoint conducted on Route 5 Tuesday resulted in the arrest of two local residents, while 14 others were ticketed for vehicle and traffic infractions.
Those charged with DWIs were Randy A. Lehr, 50, of Amsterdam, and Duncan Pank, 25, of Canajoharie, troopers said.
Pank was arraigned in Mohawk town court and remanded to the Montgomery County jail in lieu $2,500.
