Police Report - 01/19/2012

Canajoharie Police Department

• Robert Tylee, 49, of Canajoharie, was arrested Monday, January 9, and charged with DWI and ticketed for an uninspected vehicle. Canajoharie police said Tylee was stopped on Moyer Street because of an expired inspection sticker and that he was discovered to be intoxicated. Tylee was released on appearance tickets for Canajoharie Village Court on February 6 to answer the charges.

• Ferris Sprague IV, 31, of Fort Plain, was arrested January 2 and charged with third-degree aggravated operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and ticketed for an uninspected vehicle. Canajoharie police said Sprague was stopped on Church Street because of an expired inspection sticker and it was discovered his driver’s license was suspended. He was released on appearance tickets and scheduled to appear in Canajoharie Village Court on Jan. 23.

• Justin Anderson, 27, of East Syracuse, was arrested Saturday, January 7, and charged with second-degree criminal contempt. Canajoharie police said Anderson was a passenger in a vehicle stopped by officers because of vehicle equipment violation and that it was discovered the driver “was the protected party of an order of protection issued by the Syracuse Village Court.” Anderson was arraigned and sent to the Montgomery County jail in lieu of $500 cash bail and is scheduled to appear in Canajoharie Village Court on Jan. 23.

• Donald Oeser, Jr., 22, of Sprakers, was arrested on January 5 and charged with second-degree obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest. During a traffic stop, conducted after police noticed what appeared to be a homemade license plat affixed to a vehicle, Oeser allegedly refused to produce any of the documentation requested by the officer. According to police, he then locked himself in his vehicle and refused to comply with officers’ requests. Oeser was then arrested, arraigned and ordered to be held at the Montgomery County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail. Oeser was issued six traffic tickets and is scheduled to return to Canajoharie Village Court at a later date.

• Three Fulton County residents were arrested on January 4 following a vehicle stop on Church Street in Canajoharie. Sarah Palmer, 18, of Gloversville, was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana after it was allegedly found in the vehicle. Thomas Carville, 22, of Johnstown, was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana for hashish and marijuana allegedly found in the vehicle. Sean Price, 20, of Johnstown, was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminal possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of marijuana for hashish, marijuana and scales that were allegedly found in the vehicle. All three were issued appearance tickets to return to Canajoharie Village Court on Jan. 23.

Fort Plain Police Department

• Walter H. Miller, 26, of 364 Eaker Road, Fort Plain, was arrested on January 9 and charged with second degree unauthorized motor vehicle operation, speeding, switched plates, all while driving an uninsured motor vehicle.

Miller was stopped on Canal Street for a speed violation and found to be operating a motor vehicle with seven active suspensions. The vehicle he was driving was not registered and had plates from another vehicle on it. Miller also had an active warrant out of Herkimer County. Miller was arraigned in the Town of Minden Court and remanded to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility on cash bail.

• Early Moyer, 62, of 228 Dygert Road, Palatine Bridge, was arrested on January 4 for trespassing.

Moyer was arrested for being on private property after being told to leave and refusing to do so. He was processed and released on an appearance ticket.

• Brian Powell, 42, of 28 Reid Street, Fort Plain, was arrested on December 26, charged with a headlight violation and aggravated operation of a motor vehicle.

Powell was stopped for a lighting violation and it was discovered that his driver’s license was suspended in four different courts. He was arraigned and released on his own recognizance after processing.
