These recent storms have been quite frightening. I'm sure I'm not the only one who finds it hard to enjoy a storm anymore. I remember when I was a teenager, my friends and I would move our party to the porch during even the heaviest downpours, where we'd sit and watch and revel in the most drenching moments.

Troopers: Brother shot gun

PALATINE -- Two brothers were arrested by state troopers following a family dispute in which one reportedly shot at the other.
Troopers said Shane Hisert, 34, physically harmed his brother and then went back to his own house a short distance away, where he was confronted by his other brothers. One of the brothers, Brian Hisert, 32, threw a metal wheel through Shane's backdoor window, police said. Shane responded by allegedly shooting a shotgun over his brother's head.
